Technology & Services: Overview
Correlogic’s technology is developed specifically for the analysis of complex biological data sets containing thousands to millions of independent data points – such as those created by mass spectrometry, NMR, gene arrays, and highly multiplexed immunoassays. Correlogic’s methodology efficiently mines the data to identify subtle, yet reproducible relationships between multiple data points, or markers, that characterize the grouping of many samples. Correlogic’s technology can be used to combine the analysis of genomic and proteomic data streams to create a more comprehensive picture of a biological state or condition.
Correlogic provides research and development tools and support services to the pharmaceutical, research and diagnostic communities. Correlogic’s patented software makes it possible to identify proteomic bio-markers and other complex biomolecular relationships. This technology can be used for pinpointing early indicators of various diseases. Through toxicity evaluation, it can substantially reduce the time-to-market for new drugs.
Technology
The KDE™
Correlogic’s core technology is our proprietary pattern recognition and pattern discovery software, the Knowledge Discovery Engine® (KDE). The KDE combines a simulation of neo-Darwinistic evolution with competitive, adaptive pattern mapping algorithms, and a method of determining cluster homogeneity. The KDE has been ported to many different platforms, from computer clusters to stand-alone desktops.

Proteome Quest®
Proteome Quest is a research application software derived from the KDE. It is designed specifically for the creation of computational biological state models.
Services
Licensing
Correlogic’s KDE technology is currently being offered to potential clients through software licensing and our bioinformatics analytical services. The KDE and related products can be licensed by manufacturers of protein separation and sequencing equipment, manufacturers of diagnostic tools that generate large volumes of data, other bioinformatic service companies and pharmaceutical companies. The potential for even more significant licensing opportunities exists with our patented methodology for identifying specific disease protein patterns.
New Drug Discovery Analytical Services
Our KDE technology can be used to provide analytical services on an outsourcing basis to pharmaceutical and other biotech companies. These services allow for provision of near real-time analysis of new drug development testing procedures, e.g. toxicity prediction. Data may be downloaded via the Internet or supplied on disk, analyzed, and the results returned in similar fashion.
